The non-profit Junior Management Science e.V operates the journal Junior Management Science (JUMS). Professors and students founded JUMS in 2017 with the purpose of promoting academia and research.<\/p>\n<\/div>

JUMS has five benefits for society:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. First, JUMS makes the previously lost insights contained in student theses available to academic and wider society by publishing the best theses and no longer letting them \u201cget dusty\u201d on the shelves.<\/li>\n
  2. Second, JUMS promotes open science: It publishes the theses open access to facilitate knowledge transfer within academia and between academia and society. Through publishing open access, JUMS also wants to convince excellent university students of open science. This way, those emerging academic talents can help to establish open science in \u201cestablished\u201d academia in the long term.<\/li>\n
  3. Third, JUMS promotes academic talents: By publishing their work, JUMS highlights their talent and recognises their achievements in front of an expert audience.<\/li>\n
  4. Fourth, JUMS enhances the quality of theses and teaching in general. Students who submit their thesis can learn from the extensive feedback of their two reviewers \u2014 for future academic work, among other things. Those students who will soon write a theses get an overview of the requirements for excellent theses so that they too can write very good theses. In addition, JUMS makes it possible to compare the quality of theses across universities, and universities compete to have their students publish the most in JUMS. This incentivises universities to improve their supervision of theses and teaching in general.<\/li>\n
  5. Fifth, the review process makes it possible to compare the quality of theses across universities. This allows academics and companies to take theses into account when evaluating applicants.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>
